Cast your vote!

Ok...first off.  Rick, stop rolling your eyes.  Ok.  Soooo Ariy is getting ready to transition to a big boy bed aka a crib.  We are just now in the process of picking one out and since I am the most indecisive person ever, I would like you to cast your vote.  I will definitely use the results heavily to make my final decision so please vote.

Crib 1 - Black Jenny Lind style - source
DaVinci Jenny Lind 3-in-1 Convertible Crib - Ebony -- Black
Crib 2 - Cherry "wave" Crib - source

Crib 3 - Modern Grey crib - source
Best Cribs: Baby Mod Modena 3-in-1 Fixed Side Crib

Crib 4 - Modern Navy crib - source

That last two cribs also come in white and natural wood.  I just tend to like the "different colors."

  2. I like the Cherry Wave Crib best... 2nd, the Black Jenny Lind Style. We have a DaVinci crib and I really like it (although it looks more like the cherry wave crib).

  3. Cherry Wave Crib for sure. No doubt about it.

  4. 3 or 4 are both great choices. Easy to clean for those fun urp or poop times and easy to store when you're waiting for #2 to come along. I love the grey color!! After my experience with cribs, the Jenny Linds are cute, but get super dusty and are a pain to wipe down all the time, the sleigh style is what Ethan had and I loved to look and durability, however, this too was a difficult "cleaner" and when I went to store it, it took up so much room and, being that we are the same height (the 1/2 inch does count!) I had a difficult time even with the drop side, changing the sheets. Hope this helps, beautiful!

  5. I like 3 or 4. They look more "kiddish" which will be nice when he's a toddler and you want to turn the crib into a toddler bed. I like that they look more fun and not like a mini adult bed.

  8. ummm, question...do any of these turn into a toddler bed? Functionality is my number one, then I can cast my vote. Sorry to be high maintenance. :)

  9. I know the bottom two do. I am not sure about the other ones. I think you have to buy an additional piece.

  10. Function: I personally would definitely go with one that converts. We got ours from IKEA and have never had to store it since it converted. And since there are all those outgrown clothes to store, reducing storage is a huge plus.
Price: I would also say that I would be completely swayed by price. Function first then price...then preference. That is just my linear thought process.
Preference: I like the first one but I can definitely see the problem about cleaning. Not just regular cleaning like dust and stuff, but I know numerous people whose babies/toddlers either had a blow out or took off their DIRTY diaper and got poop everywhere. Can you imagine the poop staying in the nodes of those posts? (yes, I said nodes, and I think that is an appropriate term, but my slight embarrassment of not knowing if it is appropriate is overshadowed by my vision of crusted poop.) Number two looks like a good bed, and sturdy, but it is very visually striking. It makes me wonder if it will fit into any baby room if the rest of your furniture isn't matchy matchy. That is my personal opinion though. Thus, I am leaning toward the last version. I think it is simple enough to go with other things, but cool too-plus the different colors are helpful.
So, that is my ridiculously long response.
